Continuamos trabajando para mejorar la preparación para la reducción del riesgo de desastres en la provincia de El Seibo. Hasta el próximo domingo estamos capacitando a personal de la Defensa Civil del municipio de Miches, de la provincia El Seibo y de la Defensa Civil Santo Domingo sede central, al igual que a miembros de los cuerpos de bomberos de Miches, El Cedro y Pedro Sánchez, en la “Operación y Rescate ante Inundaciones Urbanas”.
Con esto buscamos garantizar que las instituciones de respuestas cuenten con las capacidades para la atención ante inundaciones urbanas provocadas por las crecidas del río Yeguada, producto de eventos hidrometeorológicos extremos asociados a los efectos del Cambio Climático.
Esta capacitación se desarrolla en el marco del proyecto El Seibo Resiliente, una iniciativa del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente RD e implementado por la Cooperación alemana para el desarrollo, GIZ, con fondos de la Unión Europea y el BMZ.
