El Comité Municipal de Prevención, Mitigación y Respuesta (CM-PMR), presidido por la Alcaldía de Miches y su alcaldesa Luz Maria Mercedes, recibió la visita del director ejecutivo de la Defensa Civil Dominicana y Presidente de la Comisión Nacional de Emergencias, Juan Salas.
También le acompañaron el Senador Santiago Zorrilla y la Gobernadora de El Seibo, Irene Martínez; el subdirector de la Defensa Civil y encargado de Operaciones, Delfín Rodríguez; el director provincial de El Seibo, Nelson Arroyo, así como Yanelba Abreu, coordinadora del Programa Fortalecimiento de la Gestión de Riesgos en la República Dominicana.
En este encuentro se planificaron los pasos a seguir para continuar fortaleciendo el municipio de Miches en la Reducción de Riesgos de Desastres y se acordó la ruta para la comunicación continua entre el proyecto El Seibo Resiliente y la Comisión Nacional de Emergencias, designando un punto focal.
De igual manera se realizó un recorrido por las comunidades más vulnerables antes las inundaciones urbanas asociadas a los efectos del Cambio Climático.
Durante este recorrido se mostraron los puntos donde se estarán colocando diferentes estaciones de monitoreo meterológico para el Sistema de Alerta Temprana.
