La Coordinadora del Proyecto El Seibo Resiliente, Sra. Laura Guzmán, sostuvo un encuentro con el Sr. Eulalio Ramírez, Viceministro de Producción Agrícola y Mercadeo junto al Sr. Osterman Ramírez, Sub-Director del Departamento de Producción del Ministerio de Agricultura de la República Dominican
Esta reunión se realizó con la finalidad de dar seguimiento al acuerdo de trabajo entre ambas partes para la producción de 350,000 plantas de cacao, que serán utilizadas en el marco de la restauración de 377 hectáreas ubicadas en el municipio de Miches, provincia El Seibo.
Como resultado, hoy se inició el traslado de 15,000 plantas de cacao desde la provincia El Seibo, hacia el municipio de Miches. Esta gestión se logró a través de la coordinación directa con la Sra. Miriam Guzmán, Viceministra de Desarrollo Rural del Ministerio de Agricultura, quien además, funge como punto focal del Programa Biodiversidad y Negocios.
A través de la señora viceministra Guzmán, se está organizando la firma de un Memorándum de Entendimiento que incluirá la producción de las plántulas y la asistencia técnica a los y las agricultores con el objetivo de mejorar la productividad e introducir medidas para la conservación de la biodiversidad.
