Como parte de las acciones de restauración de ecosistemas que se desarrollo en el marco del proyecto El Seibo Resiliente, se realizó una jornada de reforestación de plantas costeras en La Boca del Río La Yeguada.
La jornada fue coordinada con la Alcaldía de Miches, a través de la alcaldesa Luz María Mercedes, la Armada de República Dominicana, la Defensa Civil Dominicana, el Centro para la Conservación y Eco-Desarrollo de la Bahía de Samaná y su Entorno, el Liceo del Centro de Artes Padre Daniel y la Asociación de Pescadores de La Boca del Río.
La jornada se implementó gracias a la donación del Viceministerio de Asuntos Costeros y Marinos del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales de 2,000 plantas costeras.
La actividad contó con la presencia del viceministro José Ramón Reyes, Svenja Paulino, Directora Regional del portafolio Biodiversidad y Negocios, así como miembros del equipo técnico de El Seibo Resiliente.
Las plantas costeras utilizadas en la reforestación fueron:
