El Proyecto #ElSeiboResiliente realizó una jornada de reforestación del bosque ribereño de la cuenca del Río La Yeguada, con el objetivo de disminuir los efectos de la sequía y reducir el riesgo de desastres. Esta reforestación es una medida de adaptación basada en ecosistema, que se lleva a cabo con el apoyo del productor Jovanny (El Burro), quien facilitó 8 tareas de su propiedad para la rehabilitación.
La jornada fue realizada con el apoyo de la Asociación de Guías Turísticos de Miches, conformada por CEBSE, Defensa Civil Dominicana y el Ministerio de Educación.
Participaron también Svenja Paulino, Directora Regional de Biodiversidad y Negocios – GIZ; Jaír Urriola, Secretario Ejecutivo del Comisión Centroamericana de Ambiente y Desarrollo (CCAD); Federico Franco, Viceministro de Áreas Protegidas y Biodiversidad del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente; Carlos de la Rosa, Director Provincial del Medio Ambiente; Yeralffi Arache, Coordinador Regional del Este del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente; y Melisa Guzmán del Viceministerio de Cooperación Internacional del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente.
